Zayko Shaders
Minecraft Shaders Built for good quality at playable performance + Built in PBR, Emissive Textures, and amazing adjustability.
Zayko is the studio's longest-running project and its most downloaded. The pack targets the middle ground that most shader packs miss: rigs that are not high-end, run by players who still want reflections, emissive blocks and proper material response.
About#
Zayko Shaders is a shader pack for Minecraft Java Edition with amazing attention to detail, great quality, and the best possible optimisation. Offering a range of amazing quality visuals and adjustable effects, instead of just giving you presets we also give you great adjustability with our shaders, including emissive textures for mobs and blocks even certain items including PBR thanks to compatablity with Optifine and Iris, and for those who just want a simple click and play without adjusting there are profiles ranging from Very Low to Ultra and it's build for Keeping a stable framerate with amazing shaders.
- PBR materials — labPBR-compatible, so it works with existing resource packs
- Emissive textures — light-emitting blocks read as light sources, not bright squares
- Reflections — screen-space, budgeted per preset
- Full adjustability — anything that costs frames can be turned off individually
Compatibility#
Zayko runs under both Iris and OptiFine. Support tracks whatever Minecraft versions those two loaders support rather than pinning to a single release. Use to support versions between 1.21x - 1.7x but we removed support for these way older versions due to them limiting the shader's potential. ever since V7.0 we changed version support to 26.1 - 1.18x
If you want to play on versions lower then 1.18 then you have to use Zayko V7.0 down to V5.2 where the lower version support was added.
Availability#
Published on Modrinth and CurseForge. Free, and intended to stay that way.
Fun Fact#
Originally Zayko Shaders was a adjusted version of BSL thanks to their Open Source code, from V1 to V3 BSL was a part of the pack, After Version 1 released and we started getting some traction we realized that as good as BSL was to work off of as a template it came with its issues and a lot of them. there was bugs with Iris that couldn't be fixed for weeks purely because some of the code wasn't ours. We have worked to remove BSL from Zayko ever since V1 with V3 Replacing majority of the code to be original leaving the shader in a awkward 83% Original code spot. and ever since V5.2 the Shader has been running off its own Original code.
Only Zayko Lite runs on BSL code intentionally. as we changed the code to be Original we realized performance has been taking massive hits, Zayko Lite builds off of Zayko V4 while implementing the newer features so it can preform the best on low end devices. Zayko Lite currently is still stuck on V1 as we don't want to use BSL's code for anything else and if we do revisit Lite then it'll need to be improved a lot for it to be Original.
